The Midwest League announced the starters and full rosters for its 2019 All-Star Game, which will be played at South Bend’s Four Winds Field on Tuesday, June 18.
The Bowling Green Hot Rods had the most players selected for the game (eight). The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and the Quad Cities River Bandits are tied for most representatives from a Western Division team (six). The Hot Rods are the team with the most starters (three).
The Beloit Snappers, Burlington Bees, Dayton Dragons and South Bend Cubs are the only teams without a starting player, but all clubs have at least one representative on the rosters.
The Eastern Division starters are Bowling Green Hot Rods catcher Chris Betts, Lansing Lugnuts first baseman Jake Brodt, Fort Wayne TinCaps second baseman Xavier Edwards, Great Lakes Loons third baseman Miguel Vargas, Bowling Green Hot Rods shortstop Wander Franco, Great Lakes Loons outfielder Niko Hulsizer, Lake County Captains outfielder Will Benson, West Michigan Whitecaps outfielder Ulrich Bojarski, and Bowling Green Hot Rods designated hitter Roberto Alvarez.

The West Division starters are Wisconsin Timber Rattlers catcher David Fry, Peoria Chiefs first baseman Brady Whalen, Kane County Cougars second baseman Blaze Alexander, Peoria Chiefs third baseman Nolan Gorman, Wisconsin Timber Rattlers shortstop Brice Turang, Clinton LumberKings outfielder Jerar Encarnacion, Kane County Cougars outfielder Alek Thomas, Quad Cities River Bandits outfielder Austin Dennis, and Cedar Rapids Kernels designated hitter Chris Williams.

A fan fest will be held at Four Winds Field the day before the All-Star Game. The Monday, June 17, event will include a home run derby and autograph sessions with the Midwest League All-Stars and several former Chicago Cubs players. (South Bend is an affiliate of the Cubs and is located about 100 miles southeast of Chicago.)
