Great Lakes Loons outfielder Niko Hulsizer was named the Midwest League Player of the Month for May.
Hulsizer batted .330 in May and led the MWL in home runs (10), runs batted in (26), total bases (72), slugging percentage (.720) and OPS (1.166). He ranked second in runs scored (24) in the league.
Hulsizer had a 10-game hitting streak from May 20-30, had 10 multi-hit games in May, and was named the MWL offensive player of the week for May 20-26. He was selected as a starter for this year’s Midwest League All-Star Game (to be held at Four Winds Field on Tuesday, June 18) and is expected to be asked to participate in the MWL Home Run Derby.
Overall this season, the Los Angeles Dodgers prospect is batting .274 with 13 homers, 16 doubles and 44 RBI in 48 games with the Loons.
