A former Marlins infielder will manage the LumberKings in 2019, the first year of Clinton’s affiliation with Miami’s major-league ballclub.
Mike Jacobs will take the reigns of the LumberKings after two seasons as manager of the short-season Batavia Muckdogs, Miami’s affiliate in the New York-Penn League. The former first baseman retired as a player following the 2016 season, after 18 seasons of pro ball. His playing career included parts of seven seasons in the major leagues, with 391 of his 569 MLB games played for the Marlins.
The rest of Jacobs’ coaching staff will be announced at a later date.
