Midwest League All-Star Game rosters announced

The rosters for this year’s Midwest League All-Star Game were announced Wednesday. The Peoria Chiefs and the Bowling Green Hot Rods have the most All-Star players, with six from each team. The Chiefs have the most starters (three).

The game will be played Tuesday, June 19, at Cooley Law School Stadium, home of the Lansing Lugnuts.

Here are the starting players for each team (not including starting pitchers, who will be named at a later date), and their MWL stats through Tuesday’s games.

Eastern Division starters

South Bend Cubs catcher Miguel Amaya (.292 BA, 8 HR, 21 XBH, 30 RBI in 48 games)

South Bend Cubs first baseman Jared Young (.272 BA, 6 HR, 17 XBH, 28 RBI in 40 games)

Lansing Lugnuts second baseman Kevin Vicuna (.292 BA, 1 HR, 15 XBH, 25 RBI, 6 SB in 50 games)

Great Lakes Loons third baseman Jared Walker (.255 BA, 7 HR, 23 XBH, 27 RBI in 43 games)

Bowling Green Hot Rods shortstop Taylor Walls (.322 BA, 2 HR, 17 XBH, 21 RBI, 9 SB in 48 games)

Bowling Green Hot Rods outfielder Moises Gomez (.316 BA, 5 HR, 20 XBH, 33 RBI in 47 games)

Lake County Captains outfielder Will Benson (.193 BA, 9 HR, 14 XBH, 20 RBI in 52 games)

Lansing Lugnuts outfielder Chavez Young (.328 BA, 2 HR, 24 XBH, 26 RBI, 15 SB in 50 games)

Dayton Dragons designated hitter Hendrik Clementina (.336 BA, 9 HR, 21 XBH, 34 RBI in 38 games)
