Kim Parker was named the new general manager of the Burlington Bees earlier this month, The Hawk Eye reported.
Parker becomes the team’s first female general manager, and the Midwest League’s first since Stefanie Brown stepped down as GM of the Quad Cities River Bandits in January 2013.
Parker, 33, has been part of the Bees’ front office for the past eight seasons, and served as Burlington’s assistant general manager for the last four. She takes the reins from her father, Chuck Brockett, who was the team’s general manager the past 18 seasons.
