Cincinnati Reds third baseman Eugenio Suarez agreed to a seven-year, $66 million contract that includes a $15 million club option for the 2025 season, the team announced Friday.
Suarez batted .260 with 26 HR and 82 RBI in 156 games with the Reds last season. Cincinnati acquired him from the Detroit Tigers in a three-player trade in December 2014. The Venezuela native made his major-league debut earlier that year.
Suarez played in the Midwest League in 2012, when he batted .288 with 6 HR, 67 RBI and 21 SB in 135 games with the West Michigan Whitecaps.
