Cedar Rapids Kernels RHP Clark Beeker and Clinton LumberKings outfielder Gareth Morgan respectively were named the Midwest League pitcher and offensive player of the week for the period of July 24-30.

Beeker made one start last week, pitching a nine-inning shutout against the LumberKings. He allowed only five hits while striking out seven and walking none. The Minnesota Twins prospect is 10-3 with a 2.31 ERA, two shutouts, 77 strikeouts and 14 walks in 18 starts (113 innings) for the Kernels this season.

Morgan played in five games during the past week, batting .615 (6-for-13) with two homers, five walks, seven runs batted in, three runs scored, and two stolen bases. The Seattle Mariners prospect is batting .254 with 11 HR, 48 RBI and 11 SB in 85 games with the LumberKings this season.
