Fort Wayne TinCaps shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. and Quad Cities River Bandits RHP Kevin Hill respectively were named the Midwest League offensive player and pitcher of the week for the period of June 26 to July 2.
Tatis played in seven games during that period, batting .400 (10-for-25) with 3 HR and 6 RBI. The San Diego Padres prospect is batting .266 with 12 HR, 41 RBI and 14 SB in 77 games this season.
Tatis was named the Midwest League offensive player of the week once before this time, for the period of May 15-21.
Hill made two relief appearances during the past week. He struck out eight batters without allowing a hit or a walk in 7.2 innings. He earned a win in one of those games.
The Houston Astros prospect has made 14 relief appearances for the River Bandits this season. He is 2-1 with a 3.60 ERA, three saves, 30 strikeouts and 10 walks in 25 innings.
