The Cincinnati Reds traded former Dayton Dragons corner infielder Seth Mejias-Brean to the Seattle Mariners on Monday for a player to be named later.
Mejias-Brean was named the Reds Minor League Player of the Year in 2013, when he batted .305 with 10 HR and 79 RBI in 127 games with the Dragons. He played in Triple-A last year, batting .228 with 6 HR and 45 RBI in 127 games with the Louisville Bats. He batted .262 (16-for-61) in 16 games with the Bats this season.
