South Bend Cubs corner infielder Matt Rose was named the Midwest League player of the month for August.
Last month the Chicago Cubs prospect led the Midwest League in home runs (7) and extra-base hits (15), was second in runs scored (19) and runs batted in (22), and third in doubles (8), slugging percentage (.573) and on-base plus slugging percentages (.935).
Rose played in 78 Midwest League games this year, batting .235 with 13 HR and 43 RBI.
