River Bandits RHP Albert Abreu was dominant in his eight-inning start Sunday, but a two-run rally by the Cougars in the 9th inning gave Kane County a 2-1 win over Quad Cities.

Abreu gave up two singles and two walks in eight scoreless innings, and struck out five batters. He was in line for the win when he left the game, but Joe Munoz’s two-run double off reliever Adam Whitt gave the Cougars a walk-off victory.

Abreu is 2-6 with a 4.20 ERA, two saves, 82 strikeouts and 38 walks in 64.1 innings (15 games/11 starts) this season.
