LumberKings get new pitching coach

The Seattle Mariners announced Wednesday that former Tampa Bay Rays minor-leaguer Pete Woodworth is the new pitching coach for the Clinton LumberKings. He replaces Rich Dorman, who left the Mariners organization to accept a coaching position at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Ariz.

Woodworth pitched in the Rays organization during the 2010 season, posting a 2.42 ERA with 26 strikeouts and nine walks in 26 innings (17 games) in the rookie-level Gulf Coast League. He spent the last two seasons as the pitching coach for Florida Gulf Coast University, for whom he pitched from 2007 to 2010.
