2016 Midwest League All-Star Game position-player reserves

The rosters for the 2016 Midwest League All-Star Game were announced Tuesday. I wrote about the starting position players in an earlier post, which you can read here. I’ll take a look at the bench players for both teams in this post, and then write about the All-Star pitchers in a subsequent post.

Here are the Eastern Division reserve position-players (and their Midwest League statistics through Monday’s games):

Fort Wayne TinCaps C Austin Allen (.320 BA, 3 HR, 22 RBI in 44 games)

Bowling Green Hot Rods C Brett Sullivan (.267 BA, 9 HR, 39 RBI, 8 SB in 44 games)

Lake County Captains 2B Tyler Krieger (.325 BA, 3 HR, 28 RBI, 14 SB in 53 games)

Lake County Captains SS Willi Castro (.254 BA, 4 HR, 21 RBI, 7 SB in 50 games)

Bowling Green Hot Rods 3B Kevin Padlo (.194 BA, 8 HR, 31 RBI, 5 SB in 47 games)

Bowling Green Hot Rods INF/OF Michael Russell (.289 BA, 4 HR, 22 RBI, 16 SB in 46 games)

Lansing Lugnuts OF Andrew Guillotte (.264 BA, 2 HR, 25 RBI, 11 SB in 52 games)

Beloit Snappers C Jose Chavez (.222 BA, 0 HR, 7 RBI in 34 games)

Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 1B/C Mitch Ghelfi (.244 BA, 1 HR, 9 RBI in 37 games)

Peoria Chiefs 2B Eliezer Alvarez (.311 BA, 1 HR, 27 RBI, 15 SB in 52 games)

Peoria Chiefs SS Edmundo Sosa (.262 BA, 2 HR, 24 RBI in 52 games)

Clinton LumberKings 3B Logan Taylor (.266 BA, 2 HR, 31 RBI in 42 games)

Beloit Snappers OF Skye Bolt (.226 BA, 2 HR, 12 RBI in 38 games)

The Midwest League All-Star Game will be played Tuesday, June 21, at Veterans Memorial Stadium, home of the Cedar Rapids Kernels. A home run derby will precede the All-Star Game, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
