Parkview Field, home of the Fort Wayne TinCaps, was voted the best Class A baseball stadium in Ballpark Digest‘s Best of the Ballparks competition.
Thirty ballparks were part of the Class A division of the bracket-style contest in which fans voted online. Parkview Field defeated McCormick Field, home of the South Atlantic League’s Asheville Tourists, in the final round. McCormick Field beat Fifth Third Ballpark, home of the West Michigan Whitecaps, in the Final Four round.
“We’re extremely appreciative of everyone who took the time to support Parkview Field in this competition,” TinCaps President Mike Nutter said in a press release. “We’re proud to see our ballpark honored by a national source like Ballpark Digest which does such a great job covering the sport of baseball. It’s nice to know that Parkview Field is highly thought of not only around Fort Wayne, but all over.”
This isn’t the first time the TinCaps have won recognition from Ballpark Digest. They were named the Minor League Team of the Year in 2014 and Organization of the Year in 2009, among other honors.
