Cedar Rapids Kernels RHP Miles Nordgren struck out 12 batters Saturday, but his team lost 2-1 to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in 11 innings.

Nordgren gave up only one run on four hits while striking out 12 and walking none. Despite that great start, he was on the hook for the loss when he was removed from the game.

That remained the case until the Kernels rallied for a game-tying run in the bottom of the 9th inning, notching a tally on a sacrifice fly by Jermaine Palacios.

The Timber Rattlers took back the lead in the top of the 11th inning, scoring the eventual winning run on a sac fly by Luis Aviles.
