Peralta goes hitless in first rehab start for Chiefs

St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Jhonny Peralta went hitless in his first rehab start for the Peoria Chiefs.

He went 0-for-2 against Beloit Snappers RHP Boomer Biegalski. He flied out to right field in the 1st inning, and popped out to second base in the 4th inning. Defensively he made two putouts and three assists before being replaced by Edmundo Sosa at shortstop after the 4th inning.

Peralta is expected to play in four more games during Peoria’s current homestand, on Saturday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. He isn’t scheduled to start Sunday’s game.

Peralta is rehabbing after undergoing surgery for a torn thumb ligament in March.
