Former South Bend Silver Hawks pitcher Aaron Blair struck out 10 batters in seven no-hit innings Tuesday for the Gwinnett Braves, Atlanta’s Triple-A affiliate in the International League.
Blair was removed from the game after the 7th inning, and Gwinnett’s no-hit bid was broken up two outs into the 8th inning. The Braves won the game, giving Blair his third win in three starts this season. He now has a 1.42 ERA and 22 strikeouts through 19 innings.
Blair made nine starts for the 2013-14 Silver Hawks, going 1-4 with a 3.88 ERA, 57 strikeouts and 18 walks in 53.1 innings. The Arizona Diamondbacks traded him to the Braves in December.
