Four former Midwest Leaguers were included in Thursday’s six-player trade between the Seattle Mariners and the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Mariners acquired RHP Nathan Karns, LHP C.J. Riefenhauser and outfielder Herschel “Boog” Powell from the Rays in exchange for shortstop/outfielder Brad Miller, RHP Danny Farquhar and first baseman Logan Morrison.

Riefenhauser made 20 starts for the 2010-11 Bowling Green Hot Rods (two in 2010, 18 in 2011). He posted a 7-5 record with a 2.20 ERA, 103 strikeouts and 26 walks in 110.1 innings.

Powell batted .335 with 3 HR, 17 RBI and 16 SB in 69 games with the 2014 Beloit Snappers. He is not related to former Baltimore Orioles All-Star Boog Powell.

Miller played 14 games with the 2011 Clinton LumberKings. He batted .415 and drove in seven runs.

Farquhar briefly pitched for the 2008 Lansing Lugnuts, throwing six innings in three relief appearances. He struck out four and walked two batters.
