Beloit Snappers leftfielder Joe Bennie homered in his fourth consecutive game and for the eighth time in his last nine games Tuesday.
Bennie usually doesn’t hit for power. He has 11 home runs overall this season, after homering only once in each of the last two seasons.
“I’ve never hit eight home runs in a season — going back through college, high school, Little League, never — so to hit eight in nine days, it’s something I’ll always remember,” he told MiLB.com’s Josh Jackson. “It’s just clicking in my approach in what I’ve been looking for, being on time and ready to hit. I think it’s finally being a professional hitter.”
In addition to a solo homer, Bennie hit a two-run double in Tuesday’s Snappers win.
