The starting lineups and pitching order for the All-Star Futures Game were announced today. You can see them in their entirety here; in this post, I’m focusing on the three current Midwest League players who are on the rosters.
All three of them are pitchers for the World Team: Kane County Cougars RHP Wei-Chieh Huang, West Michigan Whitecaps RHP Joe Jimenez and Peoria Chiefs RHP Luis Perdomo. You can read what I previously wrote about them here and here.
Huang, an Arizona Diamondbacks prospect, is scheduled to pitch fourth for the World Team. Jimenez, a Detroit Tigers prospect, is scheduled to pitch eighth. Perdomo, a St. Louis Cardinals prospect, is scheduled to pitch 10th — which means he may not get in the game if each pitcher gets an inning of work.
Minnesota Twins prospect Jose Berrios, a righty who pitched for the Cedar Rapids Kernels in 2013, is scheduled to start the game for the World Team.
The game will be played Sunday afternoon at Great American Ball Park, home of the Cincinnati Reds.
