Ex-Dragons OF O’Grady named MWL player of the month

Former Dayton Dragons centerfielder Brian O’Grady is the Midwest League Player of the Month for June, Minor League Baseball announced Wednesday.

O’Grady batted .326, drove in 19 runs, and led the MWL with 14 extra-base hits in June. The Cincinnati Reds promoted him to their High-A team in the Florida State League on June 29.

Overall he batted .271 with 6 HR, 36 RBI and 21 SB in 71 games with the Dragons this year. He is batting .212 with 1 HR and 4 RBI through his first 10 games with the Daytona Tortugas.
