At Parkview Field, the Lake County Captains beat the Fort Wayne TinCaps 8-4 to extend their winning streak to seven games.
Lake County’s Ordomar Valdez had three hits and three RBI, and Bobby Bradley hit a three-run homer. Captains SP Justus Sheffield (3-1) got the win after giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk. He struck out seven and committed a throwing error.
At Modern Woodmen Park, the River Bandits beat the Beloit Snappers 6-3 to improve to 27-7, the best record in baseball. Kristian Trompiz’s three-run homer in the bottom of the 6th inning was the difference. Max Kuhn had three hits for the Snappers.
