The Quad Cities River Bandits’ winning streak was snapped and the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers’ losing streak was extended. Here is a look at the four games played in the Midwest League on Tuesday afternoon:
Beloit Snappers 10, Quad Cities River Bandits 4
The River Bandits’ winning streak ended at 12 games as the Snappers handed them their first loss since April 28. Eight of the nine players in Beloit’s starting lineup had hits, led by Yairo Munoz, who had four (including two triples). Jose Brizuela and Robert Martinez homered for the Snappers, and Jamie Ritchie went deep for the River Bandits.
Clinton LumberKings 4, Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 3
The Timber Rattlers rallied for three runs in the final three innings, but it wasn’t enough to beat the LumberKings and avoid their 11th straight loss. The decisive run was scored on a Kristian Brito solo shot in the top of the 8th inning.
South Bend Cubs 5, Lansing Lugnuts 3
Eight of the nine players in Lansing’s starting lineup had hits, but it wasn’t enough for the Lugnuts to win. South Bend’s Jeremy Null improved to 4-0 after giving up two runs (one earned) on nine hits, no walks and a wild pitch in six innings. He struck out four batters.
Burlington Bees 13, Kane County Cougars 6
The Bees got four-hit performances from leadoff hitter Michael Hermosillo and No. 9 hitter Erick Salcedo as they used 19 hits, six walks and an error to score 13 runs off Cougars pitchers. Caleb Adams had two hits and three RBI, and Zachary Houchins had three hits and two RBI for the Bees. Grant Heyman and Fernery Ozuna homered for the Cougars.
