The Kane County Cougars announced new additions to their food and drink menus Tuesday.
The most unique of the new offerings is the Heart Attack Burger, which combines breakfast, lunch and dinner items into one large sandwich. It consists of a half-pound beef patty topped with grilled onions, a fried egg, a slice of melted cheddar cheese, chipotle bacon mayo, two strips of bacon, and a pair of grilled cheese sandwiches serving as its bun. It will be available at Ozzie’s Grill, located on the concourse level behind home plate.
Other new food items at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark include a chicken Caesar salad and a new dessert item, Oreo churros, which includes a vanilla dipping sauce meant to be reminiscent of the inside of an Oreo cookie. (Several minor-league teams added Oreo churros to their menus this year, including the West Michigan Whitecaps and the Lake County Captains.)
Also new this year is Raging Cougar Ale, a specialty beer made for the Cougars by local brewery Two Brothers Brewing Company. The new beer is described as a light and hoppy pale ale, golden in color, with a nutty caramel malt flavor. (Read my previous post about the new beer here.)
In addition to Raging Cougar Ale, which will be on tap, the Cougars will offer 20 to 25 specialty craft beers available inside the Craft Beer Cave located on the third-base side of the concourse.
Popular food items that are returning to Fifth Third Bank Ballpark include the barbeque pork chop sandwich, foot-long Polish sausage, Italian beef, meatball sub, and roasted corn, all available at Wannemaker’s Outside Grill on the first-base side of the stadium; the barbeque pulled pork sandwich available at the four main concession stands on the concourse; the Ozzie Dog (a half-pound hot dog with grilled onions), foot-long Polish sausage, and Italian sausage available at Bobak’s Sausage Cart; and the Super Nacho available at the South of the Border cart.
