Happy birthday to Seattle Mariners closer Fernando Rodney, who turns 38 today.

He pitched for the West Michigan Whitecaps in 2000, when he was a Detroit Tigers farmhand. He went 6-4 with a 2.94 ERA, 56 strikeouts and 35 walks in 82.2 IP. He started 10 of the 22 games he appeared in.

Rodney was inducted into the Whitecaps Hall of Fame in January, but was unable to attend the ceremony because he was already scheduled to be part of a USO tour to South Korea at that time.
