Nationals sign former Lugnuts pitcher

The Washington Nationals reportedly have signed RHP Casey Janssen to a one-year deal with a mutual option for the 2016 season.

Janssen, who briefly pitched for the Lansing Lugnuts in 2005, pitched at the major-league level for the Toronto Blue Jays for eight years before becoming a free agent after the 2014 season. He notched 81 saves in the past three seasons.

Janssen started seven games for the Lugnuts, going 4-0 with a 1.37 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 46 IP.
