PHOTOS: South Bend projects progress

The conversion from artificial turf to natural grass at Four Winds Field is almost complete. Here is a look at the field at 4:30 p.m. EST, courtesy of the South Bend Cubs:

Work also began this week on the area where the new Four Winds Field batting facility will be located (behind the right-field wall, where there previously was a parking lot). Crews leveled the ground and began to set the foundation of the facility, as seen in this photo from the South Bend Cubs:

All construction work is expected to be completed by Opening Day 2015.
