The Clinton LumberKings and the Beloit Snappers split their Friday doubleheader, with Clinton winning the first game 7-1 and Beloit winning the second game 5-1.
The biggest offensive blow of the first game came off the bat of LumberKings DH Chantz Mack, who hit a three-run triple that capped a five-run 6th inning.
RF Austin Wilson also drove in three runs for the LumberKings. One of those runs came on a solo homer in the 2nd inning.

All those runs were more than enough for the LumberKings, as SP Lars Huijer gave up only one run on three hits and three walks in seven innings. He struck out four batters.
The second game was a pitchers duel until the Snappers broke out their bats in the bottom half of the 6th inning. Highlights of that frame included a leadoff homer by 1B Ryan Mathews and SS Melvin Mercedes’ second triple of the game.
Both starting pitchers had impressive outings, but neither got a decision. Snappers SP Junior Mendez gave up three hits and a walk in five scoreless innings. He struck out seven batters.
LumberKings SP Seon Gi Kim gave up one run on one hit — Mercedes tripled and scored on a wild pitch — without issuing a walk in five innings. He struck out two batters.
The announced attendance at Pohlman Field was 1,297.
