The Bowling Green Hot Rods beat the Fort Wayne TinCaps 5-3 on Saturday, largely thanks to a great all-around performance by LF Marty Gantt.
Offensively, Gantt collected four hits — including a home run in the 8th inning — and stole three bases. Defensively, he made what the Hot Rods game story described as “a tough running catch that prevented a TinCap run from tying the game in the fifth.”
You can watch a short postgame interview with Gantt here.
Today’s game between the Hot Rods and the TinCaps will feature a great pitching matchup between two first-round draft picks, RHP Taylor Guerrieri (3-1, 1.64 ERA) for Bowling Green vs. RHP Joe Ross (3-1, 3.02 ERA) for Fort Wayne. They were drafted back-to-back in 2011, at No. 24 and No. 25 overall, respectively.
