Cincinnati Reds 1B Joey Votto handily defeated New York Yankees SS Derek Jeter 65% to 35% in MLB Network’s “Face of MLB” contest, advancing him to the Final Four round of the competition.

Votto is the last former Midwest League player left in the contest, which next pits him against Pittsburgh Pirates CF Andrew McCutchen. The winner of their matchup will face either Atlanta Braves RF Jason Heyward or Los Angeles Dodgers CF Matt Kemp. Winners are determined by fans voting on Twitter.

As a Reds minor-leaguer, Votto played 60 games with the 2003 Dayton Dragons and 111 games with the 2004 team. As a major-leaguer, he rehabbed twice with the team (two games in 2009 and three games in 2012). In 176 games with the Dragons, Votto batted .279 with 16 HR and 96 RBI.

Naturally I’m rooting for Votto to win the “Face of MLB” contest because he’s a former Midwest Leaguer, but are you? If not, who do you hope wins? And which of the four remaining players — Votto, McCutchen, Heyward and Kemp — do you think will win?
