Napoli agrees to 3-year deal with Red Sox

Mike Napoli reportedly has agreed to a three-year, $39 million deal with the Boston Red Sox. He is expected to play first base primarily, but could still catch if needed in that role.

Napoli played 149 games with the Cedar Rapids Kernels in 2001 and 2002. During that time, he hit .246 with 15 HR and 68 RBI.

Napoli has played 727 games in the major leagues (with the Angels and the Rangers), hitting .259 with 146 HR and 380 RBI.
