A statue depicting Minnesota Twins great Kent Hrbek celebrating the team’s 1987 World Series win was unveiled outside Target Field this morning. As you can see in the photo below, hundreds of fans turned out for the event.

Hrbek played in the Midwest League in 1980, hitting .267 with 19 HR and 76 RBI in 115 games with the Wisconsin Rapids Twins. One of his fellow infielders on that team was Gary Gaetti, who hit .266 with 22 HR, 82 RBI and 24 SB.
