Winter Storm Rocky has been dumping various amounts of snow throughout the Midwest, setting up these photos of snowbound Midwest League stadiums in Illinois.
Here is a photo of Peoria Chiefs Stadium at about 4:15 p.m. today …

Gyorko’s hot start to spring training
During the early days of spring training, former Fort Wayne TinCaps 3B Jedd Gyorko is making a strong case for his inclusion on the San Diego Padres’ major-league roster.
Although he primarily played third base during his three seasons in the minor leagues, Gyorko is hoping to beat out Logan Forsythe to be the Padres’ starting second baseman. Through four spring training games, Gyorko has 3 HR and 9 RBI, while Forsythe has yet to get a hit.
Gyorko hit .284 with 2 HR and 23 RBI in 42 games with the 2010 TinCaps.
