The All-Time Quad Cities Team catcher candidates

Leading up to the new season, the Quad Cities River Bandits are asking fans to elect an All-Time Quad Cities Baseball Team. This week’s vote is for the catcher position.

Here are the six candidates, along with their Quad Cities statistics:

Rube Walker (.354 with 13 HR in 96 games with the 1946 Davenport Cubs)

J.C. Martin (.208 in 19 games with the 1957 Davenport DavSox; that year he also hit .286 in 103 games with the Midwest League’s Dubuque Packers)

Brian Harper (.293, 24 HR, 101 RBI in 129 games with the 1978 Quad City Angels)

Damon Berryhill (.276, 0 HR, 31 RBI in 62 games with the 1984 Quad City Cubs)

Ramon Castro (.248, 7 HR, 43 RBI in 96 games with the 1996 Quad City River Bandits)

Joe Mauer (.302, 4 HR, 62 RBI in 110 games with the 2002 Quad City River Bandits)

The team finished hanging scoreboard panels this past weekend and is now working on the electrical wiring.
