A photo tweeted by Kansas City Royals LHP Everett Teaford yesterday went viral today as people everywhere learned the answer to the age-old question, “How many former Midwest League players can fit into Jonathan Broxton’s pants at the same time?”
The answer is two.
Teaford (left) pitched in 27 games for the Burlington Bees in 2007, going 6-8 with a 4.68 ERA and 84 strikeouts in 134.2 IP. His partner in crime, LHP Tim Collins, pitched in 39 games for the Lansing Lugnuts in 2008, compiling a 4-2 record with a 1.58 ERA and 98 strikeouts in 68.1 IP.
Broxton, the burly Royals reliever who previously closed for the Los Angeles Dodgers, did not play in the Midwest League.
