2011 Gold Glove Awards announced

The winners of this year’s Rawlings Gold Glove Awards were announced tonight. Here is a list of the winners; Midwest League teams and years included for those who played in the Low-A league:

American League

P: Mark Buehrle of the Chicago White Sox (played for the Burlington Bees in 1999)

C: Matt Wieters of the Baltimore Orioles

1B: Adrian Gonzalez of the Boston Red Sox (played for the Kane County Cougars in 2001)

2B: Dustin Pedroia of the Boston Red Sox

3B: Adrian Beltre of the Texas Rangers

SS: Erick Aybar of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (played for the Cedar Rapids Kernels in 2003)

LF: Alex Gordon of the Kansas City Royals

CF: Jacoby Ellsbury of the Boston Red Sox

RF: Nick Markakis of the Baltimore Orioles

National League

P: Clayton Kershaw of the Los Angeles Dodgers (played for the Great Lakes Loons in 2007)

C: Yadier Molina of the St. Louis Cardinals (played for the Peoria Chiefs in 2002)

1B: Joey Votto of the Cincinnati Reds (played for the Dayton Dragons in 2003 and 2004)

2B: Brandon Phillips of the Cincinnati Reds

3B: Placido Polanco of the Philadelphia Phillies (played for the Peoria Chiefs in 1995)

SS: Troy Tulowitzki of the Colorado Rockies

LF: Gerardo Parra of the Arizona Diamondbacks (played for the South Bend Silver Hawks in 2007)

CF: Matt Kemp of the Los Angeles Dodgers
